FAQs

What are the payment options for dog walking services?

At Solent Dog Walking, we offer convenient payment options to make your experience hassle-free. You can pay for our services through bank transfer or in cash.

Where do you walk the dogs?

We are lucky enough to live in a beautiful area surrounded by lovely places to walk. We walk in a variety of different locations within a 5 mile radius and choose walk locations to suit each particular walk.

What safety measures are in place during dog walks?

Your pet's safety is our top priority at Solent Dog Walking. We have various safety measures in place, including emergency contact information, a first aid kit for any unexpected situations, dog tags for identification, and pet insurance coverage for added peace of mind.

Do you still walk in the rain?

YES! Here at Solent Dog Walking we walk no matter rain or shine. We have a small selection of dog coats if your dog doesnt have their own and we also carry drying robes so dogs can enjoy a pajama party on the way home in wet weather.

The only time you wont find us outside is if its simply too dangerous to be out (Red weather warning, extreme heat etc) in these rare cases we will do our best to come up with a solution that works for everyone.

How many dogs do you walk in a group?

I am insured to walk upto 6 dogs per group. I have found over the years that walking groups of 4 works best for me as it allows me the flexibilty to say yes (whenever possible) if anyone requires extra walks. If your dog joins our walks they will have 3 regular friends in their group and will sometimes be joined by 1 or 2 other dogs depending on the group.

Do you walk reactive dogs?

Yes!

Here at Solent Dog Walking we understand that reactive dogs are just dogs who need an extra helping hand to be able to enjoy safe walks. My time working in rescue has given me alot of experience with reactive dogs and I have also undertaken training courses to help me understand more about reactivity in dogs. Each dog is an individual and is treated as such when joining for walks.

Will my dog be allowed off lead?

Yes, dogs are allowed off lead during our walks provided you have given your written consent. Dogs must have good recall in order to go off lead and this will be tested before letting any dogs off lead.

How will you transport my dog?

All dogs will travel in Bluebell our custom designed Solent Dog Walking van. Bluebell is fitted with custom crates designed with dogs safety in mind. Each dog will get their own crate complete with comfy bed to relax on during the ride. Bluebell is fitted with air conditioning, fully insulated and has tinted rear windows to keep the temperature perfect no matter what time of year.

What if my dog gets muddy?

Here at Solent Dog Walking we love to adventure into the woods and often off the beaten path for extra fun. That can mean pups will sometimes get very dirty, fear not Bluebell (our custom transport vehicle) is fitted with a Mobi V17 washer to clean those muddy dogs at the end of walks. We endeavour wherever possible to return dogs as clean and dry as possible, we will also discuss arrangments for this during our free meet and greet.

Can I choose what time you walk my dog?

We have several different time slots available each day for group walks, you are welcome to choose the slot that fits best (dependant on available space) However we do like to build the groups carefully with dogs who match in energy, confidence and personality, this will all be discussed when you enquire to make sure we have something suitable for your needs.
